Update and new art assets!


It has been over a week since the last update so I wanted to write about the changes that have been going on inside Symbyte!

There have been a number of small mechanical changes added, including:

  • Introduction of a mini-game for the Symbyte.  This is based on the original P1 minigame which has the player guess the direction their Symbyte is thinking of.
  • Additional animations for Symbytes, such as a standard death animation, an animation for training, and different food animations for each Symbyte line.  
  • The introduction of a static background for the Symbyte.  Initially, each Symbyte line will come with a unique background but, during play, the player can find Symbyte Kiosks which can be used to get additional backgrounds (and foods) for their pets!
    Various small bug fixes and animation improvements...
But the majority of work being done on the game has been in the realm of modeling the environment.   Making a suburb that feels realistic and tells a story through visual scenes has been our goal, and it seems each new item added necessitates a handful of other items!
